3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma (by Elmore Leonard)
BRIEF BLURB:
Short story deciphering the cowboys from the farmers.
EVALUATION:
A good one for fresh writers to study. Take a simple idea and transcribe it as if it were a true historical event.
FILMS:
1957 version adds depth to the short story.
2007 version is a remake of its predecessor as opposed to adapting the novella to the screen. Intense acting by entire cast
WHICH IS BETTER?
The 2007 film adaptation. If the score and cinematography would have been as grimy as our main characters, we’d have been left with more grease to wash off. The experience, however, would have been worth the mud in our eyes.
