Serpico
Serpico (by Peter Maas)
BRIEF BLURB:
True accounts of a man’s fight for hope in the New York Police Department.
EVALUATION:
Insightful and, somehow, inspiring.
FILM:
Possibly Al Pacino’s best performance. Directed by Sydney Lumet (“Dog Day Afternoon”).
WHICH IS BETTER?
They are equal. The book never once feels like a true story which is perfect for non-fiction. The roles in the film are played by actors, but one still forgets this really happened.
